Pigmice Robotics Team at Cleveland High School

In 2025, OSF awarded a grant to the Pigmice Robotics Team at Cleveland High School, supporting one of the only engineering and computer science opportunities available to students at the school. Cleveland High School does not offer robotics, engineering, or computer science classes, making Pigmice a critical and fully free pathway for students interested in STEM learning.

This grant helped the team improve their robotics program by upgrading manufacturing machine blades, allowing students to work more efficiently and make vital improvements ahead of competitions. Funding also supported the purchase of Kraken motors to strengthen robot performance and streamline the build process for team members. Additionally, the grant contributed toward new technology to improve robot control and competition readiness. Beyond equipment, this funding furthered Pigmice’s mission of creating an accessible, welcoming STEM community, supporting students through competition costs, outreach, and mentorship of younger robotics teams such as First Lego League—helping build a stronger STEM pipeline in the broader community.
